Nieves, who transferred from New Mexico State, brings valuable experience to the team. He played over 600 snaps in 10 starts for the Aggies during the 2025 season. That's a lot of time spent in the trenches!
His journey to South Carolina is an interesting one. Nieves played high school football at Paradise Valley in Phoenix, Arizona, and then walked on at Hutchinson Community College. He spent a season with the Blue Dragons, playing in four games and even snagging a NCJAA national championship before moving on to New Mexico State.
