The iconic fashion house Chanel has unveiled Matthieu Blazy's inaugural campaign, a captivating journey into the past. Set in the historic Villa La Pausa, once the beloved retreat of Coco Chanel, this campaign embodies the spirit of freedom and creativity. Blazy, the creative director, transports us back to the French Riviera, where the legendary designer found solace and inspiration. The campaign, photographed by Alec Soth, showcases a diverse cast of models, including Awar Odhiang, Bhavitha Mandava, Loli Bahia, Aditsa Berzeniia, and Marta Freccia, against the backdrop of the recently restored villa. The images capture the essence of Coco Chanel's era, with models leaping down stairs, lounging on Chanel's bed, and posing amidst the olive trees in the courtyard. This campaign is a tribute to the designer's iconic androgynous style, blending masculine and feminine elements seamlessly. The collection, inspired by Chanel's love for freedom and movement, will be available in Chanel stores from March, offering a unique blend of tailoring and embellished day and evening wear. The villa, now a cultural hub, has been immortalized in a 350-page coffee table book, 'La Pausa: The Ideal Mediterranean Villa of Gabrielle Chanel,' published by Flammarion, further celebrating Coco Chanel's legacy.
